In 1 Peter 2:1-2, we're commanded to put off the desires of the flesh. As children of God, we walk in the spirit and not the flesh (Romans 8:4). As we grow in becoming more like Christ, we put off these sins, and we begin to look more like Him (Romans 8:13). How do we grow? We long for the spiritual milk of the word of God (John 17:17). The more that we read the Bible, the more we will grow.

God's word is living and active, and it changes our hearts (2 Timothy 2:24-26; Hebrews 4:12-13)! This week, spend time reading the Bible and memorizing it!

Galatians 5:22-23 shows us what a life filled with Christ will produce. In this passage, we see what it is like to live a life led by the spirit of God (Romans 8:14). If you are a Christian, you are a son of God. If you are a son of God, you are led by His Spirit, and you bear His fruit (Romans 8:10). As Christians, we are still stained by sin, but Christ is cleansing us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:8-9). We're not going to get it right every time, but as Christians, we are called to live lives characterized by this fruit and we know that He will produce it within us (Philippians 2:12-12)!
