A wonderful day trip combining an orangutan experience, a mangrove river estuary tour, a traditional charcoal factory, local breakfast and a delicious seafood lunch.
A little bit of wildlife, nature, local culture and good food — all in one day. ❤️

For over 15yrs I have patronise this Thai Food restaurant, Ghee Seng Tom Yam Seafood. It's one of the best in food quality and reasonable prices. The Tom Yam, Fried Garlic Egg and Fried Fish is a must have.
Give it a try and you will definitely like it...a well kept secret of Penang. 😋
* You may park inside the building by telling the guard you are patronising Ghee Seng and he will let you in.

As much as I’m not all that keen having my photo taken, being the photographer in our clan means we have years of pics of memories that I’m not actually in or they’re all selfies…
So thank you from the bottom of my heart for capturing these moments!! They brought smiles to our dials, and it’s fantabulous to have some more memories of our awesome time hanging out in your wonderful part of the world!!
If you ever make it back to Perth, you’re welcome to our home in Stake Hill, just east of Mandurah. If you have a look for ‘Stake Hill Station’ on FB or Insta, you’ll see a project we have happening in our backyard that miiiiiiiight be finished for you to stay in the next time you visit!!

Another day with my Aussie friends after their Orangutan and Kuala Sepetang trip! 🇦🇺❤️
This time, we went off the beaten track to Balik Pulau, Penang — exploring some of the quieter and more local side of the island.
We had lunch in Balik Pulau, then visited Kuala Sungai Pinang, a goat farm, a nutmeg factory, enjoyed a durian stopover and finished at Teluk Bahang Forest Park. 🌴🥭
Here’s what my friends had to say:
“Again, thank you Uncle Paul for your wonderful hospitality and recommendations. How we wish we had met the Taiwan guy from Kuala Sungai Pinang, where we would learn a lot from his stay over there.
Your recommendation of the noodles was fabulous, never had anything so delicious.”
This is what I love about showing visitors the real Penang — good food, local places, interesting people and experiences you may not find in the usual tourist itinerary.
