A BABY’S SMILE IS A MOTHER’S HAPPINESS
🌞🌈🌞🌈🌞🌈🌞🌈🌞🌈🌞🌈
"A mother cries when her child cries and smiles when her child smiles."
— Dr. Aurelie Athan, Director of the Reproductive & Maternal Psychology Laboratory, Columbia University (USA)
❤️ A mother’s happiness can be as simple as seeing her baby’s pure and lovely smile. Just seeing that joyful smile can make all the stress and tiredness melt away.
❤️ Researchers have found that the areas of a mother’s brain associated with happiness become strongly activated when she sees her baby smile. These areas release dopamine — often called the “happy hormone.” When released in larger amounts, it brings feelings of joy, excitement, and inspiration.
❤️ Dr. Aurelie Athan further explains that this happiness center helps mothers build a positive connection with their children. It also strengthens their ability to share emotions with their babies — the foundation of empathy.
❤️ According to research published in Scientific American, mothers also need to learn how to respond when babies are not smiling — when they cry, feel upset, uncomfortable, or irritable. The study found that mothers who neglect or mistreat children tend to show less empathy and feel more discomfort when hearing a baby cry compared to other mothers.
💕 So now, every time you see your baby smile, you may understand why your heart melts 💕
🌻 At the same time, when your baby is not smiling or becomes fussy, responding gently and appropriately is important. It not only supports your baby’s emotional development but also protects a mother’s emotional well-being 🌻
