[Vu Lan Festival - Parent's Day]

Vu Lan, observed on the 15th of the 7th month (Ghost Month) Lunar Calendar, is believed to be the only day when the ancestors or the family deceased would be able to visit home.

Vietnam is a country that highly values ​​filial piety. Taking care of graves for deceased grandparents and relatives, visiting temples to pray for peach for our ancestors are what people do to express their gratitude.

On Vu Lan Festival, a special rites is organized which called "A rose pinned on you". If you still have both parents, pin a red rose on your chest. If you only have a mother or father, you pin a light rose, and white rose is for those who unfortunately lost both parents. Among the flowers, roses are symbols of love, nobility. Therefore, the act of pinning roses on the chest is to show the best sentiment that children send to their parents.
