The Sophomore with the walk off!!!! We’re Big Charlie Payne fans!!!!
Patriots get the win tonight on a walk off single by Charlie Payne! Patriots pitching was stellar tonight, as Cole Cheatham went 5 innings, striking out 8 & Ezra Hensley coming in for 2 innings & striking out 5. Patriots bats were held in check for 6 innings but going into the bottom of the 7th, the patriots came alive! Down 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th, Cheatham gets on by a HBP, Salsbery hits a single, Miller puts the ball in play & forces an error, scoring Cheatham, making it 2-1. Harvey reaches on a Catchers interference, loading the bases with no outs. Williams come up and lines a pitch back up the middle but it’s caught and Harvey gets doubled off at first. Payne comes up to the plate with the winning run on second base, goes down 0-2, Salsbery steals home as Payne lines a ball back up the middle to center, scoring Salsbery & Miller to win the game! This is the Patriots first Playoff win since 2019! Your Patriots will be back in action, Monday at 11AM to take on Centerville in the Sectional Semi Finals!
