Join WALT in Supporting Our Community During Kansas Mobility Week!

WALT employees understand the challenges many in our community are facing during these uncertain times. As part of Kansas Mobility Week (November 3–7), we’re hosting a food drive to support our local food banks and help those in need.

In appreciation of your generosity, donate a non-perishable food item and receive a free ride on WALT. Even if you don’t need a ride, we welcome all donations—every contribution makes a difference.

The demand on our local food resources is growing, and your support is more important than ever. Let’s come together to make a meaningful impact.

WALT is celebrating our Driver Appreciation Week from October 19th through October 25th. If you have a story or a "Thank You" that you would like to leave please do so! We would love to hear your comments. Feel free to leave for one specific driver or for all! They all work so hard and we are so blessed to have them on our team!

Friday, October 10th only, WALT buses and WALT dispatch will be closed from 11:30am-12:30pm for a driver meeting. We will reopen at 12:30pm for the rest of the afternoon.

Our WALT team let our creativity shine for this year’s Chamber Scarecrow Contest!

The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce/ CVB invited businesses to "commandeer" a light pole along Washington Street and transform it with a scarecrow—and we didn’t hold back! Inspired by the nostalgic vibes of a 1960s bus stop and the classic tune *"Bus Stop"* (🎶"Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say, Please share my umbrella..."🎶), our display is a sweet throwback that you won’t want to miss.

Stop by our light pole near Travelin' Smoke to see our scarecrow duo up close, and while you’re at it, take a stroll up and down Washington Street to admire all the wonderfully creative entries from around the community.

It’s a fun, festive way to welcome fall—don’t miss it!

Finding an affordable, mobility-friendly vehicle that meets highly specialized transit needs is no easy task—but thanks to the dedication of our transit coordinator, Judy Joseph, and the outstanding service from April Lipp at Newby-Vance Mobility in Guthrie, OK, we did just that!

We’re grateful to Judy for going the extra mile in her search, and to April for exceeding expectations to make the purchase process smooth, supportive and enjoyable.

And the cherry on top? Retired president/CEO (and resident car enthusiast) Tom Kohmetscher came along for the ride to lend his vehicle expertise—though we suspect he enjoyed test-driving more than he let on.

Working with businesses that understand and accommodate our unique mission to provide specialized transportation makes all the difference—and Newby-Vance Mobility did just that. Thank you
