We’re leveling up your travel experience! 🛫 We are thrilled to share that the Waterloo Regional Airport is getting a fresh new look.

We’ve officially started replacing our dated, swirling patterns with a sleek, modern, and professional carpet design. This upgrade is all about making our terminal feel as welcoming and comfortable as possible for our amazing passengers.

ALO and IDEMIA are hosting a TSA PreCheck enrollment event on April 28th through May 1st, 2026, to make your U.S. travel easier.

If you're not already part of the TSA PreCheck program, you can now pre-enroll and schedule your in-person appointment at Waterloo Regional Airport - 2790 Livingston Ln, Waterloo, IA 50703.

Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend applying as soon as possible.

The EAA Young Eagles will host the Kids Fly Free program at the Waterloo Regional Airport on Saturday, May 16, and Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. This program is open to youth ages 8 through 17 and offers a free 15–20 minute airplane ride along with an opportunity to learn about flying.

Pre-registration is encouraged. All participants—whether registered online or as walk-ins—must have a parent or legal guardian sign a consent form before the child’s flight.

✈️ Attention Flyers: Important TSA Update for Your Next Trip from Waterloo Regional Airport ✈️

Beginning February 1, 2026, the TSA will implement its new ConfirmID identity verification program. Travelers who do not present a REAL ID–compliant driver’s license, a U.S. passport, or another TSA-approved form of identification will be required to complete the ConfirmID process and pay a $45 fee in order to fly.

✅ What this means for you:
If you’re flying out of Waterloo Regional Airport, please check your identification in advance. Without a REAL ID or approved alternative, the ConfirmID process will apply and may result in additional time and cost at the checkpoint.

To avoid delays and unexpected fees, we strongly encourage travelers to ensure their ID meets REAL ID requirements before arriving at the airport.

TSA PreCheck® Enrollment Event Update

The TSA PreCheck® enrollment event hosted by ALO and IDEMIA at Waterloo Regional Airport is currently fully booked.

While appointments are filled, event staff will attempt to accommodate walk-in applicants as time allows. Please be advised that wait times may be significant, as scheduled appointments will be prioritized.

For those unable to attend this event, Waterloo Regional Airport has already scheduled additional TSA PreCheck® enrollment events on the following dates:

April 28 – May 1

July 28 – July 31

October 20 – October 23

Additional details, including appointment scheduling information, will be shared as each event date approaches.
