How do I know what size “hole” is needed for my bunny upon your transport? How are you ensuring safety, health and biosecurity upon your transport for my rabbits? Is Food and Water available throughout the trip? How often are you in contact through your route?
These are all questions first time and veteran users of transports ask and they are the best questions to ask, especially if this is your first time with a rabbit catching a ride home to you via a transport. Here we are to answer these questions ahead of time for you.
🐰We have a special form that will be filled out by the buyer and the breeder (one for drop off and one for pickup) these forms go into our folder system for each stop so we know who is hopping on and who is hopping off! It gives us amazing information like phone numbers etc in case we can’t reach you or you’ve been delayed so we can make reasonable accommodations!
🐰 rabbits will always be supplied with their OWN food and fresh water full time. Young kits may be given some critical care in their water to help with the trip if they are traveling solo (without a litter mate). We do not give hay or treats on transport. All bags of feed are labeled to that specific rabbit. 1 small bag of feed for transport and then one larger bag of feed for transition should ALWAYS be packed by the breeder unless otherwise mentioned (ie breeder and buyer use same feed; in which case only the transport bag is needed)
🐰for biosecurity we wipe down cages with ViroknS which is a veterinary level cleaner that does kill even RHDV! We use this because it is one of the best cleaners to use for a multitude of ick that could befall not just rabbits but other animals transported as well. For now we do not require rabbits to have Health guarantees/certificates from veterinary establishments. But moving forward with the spread of RHDV this may become a requirement in order to keep everyone safe. We do NOT currently travel through hot zones or rhdv areas that had been reported within 6 months.
🐰as far as reaching us goes, we have a Facebook chat that we push pickups, drop offs, stops for gas/food and continuations on the road! We try very hard to get everyone on board and up to date so we have no missed communications! Because there is 2 of us who usually run the route together, it means we are in consistent contact! 🥳
