We’re excited to officially welcome Mark Nash to the Spencer County Schools Transportation Team as one of our substitute bus drivers!

Below is a list of bus routes that will have bus monitors to start the 2026–2027 school year.

Just a reminder: all Preschool and Head Start students must be released hand-to-hand to an approved adult and may only ride the bus when a bus monitor is on board.

As we continue to hire additional monitors, we expect more routes to be added to this list. We will continue to provide updates as staffing becomes available.

Thank you to all of our families for your patience and understanding as we’ve worked through a few minor stop and route changes this year, along with welcoming several new drivers to our team. The first few days of school always come with some adjustments, and we truly appreciate everyone working with us as we get settled into a new school year.

Our times were pretty close to normal today. We’ve had a great first two days, and we’re excited for the year ahead! We appreciate you, Spencer County!

And if you know anyone who might be interested in joining our wonderful transportation team, send them our way! We’d love to have them!

All of our students have been safely delivered home, and I could not be more thankful for the incredible team effort that made today possible.

To our bus drivers, monitors, mechanics, office staff, school administrators, teachers, support staff, law enforcement, and every district employee who played a part today. THANK YOU!

A successful first day of school doesn’t happen because of one person or one department. It truly takes every single person working together to pull it off. From welcoming students in the morning, helping them find the right bus in the afternoon, managing traffic, answering phones, solving problems, turning wrenches, driving routes, and everything in between—everyone had a hand in today's success.

There will always be things to improve, and our afternoon times will continue to get better each day, but today was a very successful first day of school!

To our families, thank you for your patience, trust, and support. And to our entire Spencer County Schools team: YOU ARE APPRECIATED!

We are excited to see everyone today! In just one hour, our buses will hit the road across Spencer County to begin transporting students to school for the 2026–2027 school year.

Please be patient with us this morning as everyone settles back into their routines, and make sure students are at their bus stop and ready on time.

If you are a middle or high school student waiting before daylight, I highly recommend using the flashlight on your phone to help your driver see you more easily.

Our goal today and everyday is simple: transport every student to and from school safely.

Please remember that delays during afternoon dismissal are completely normal during the first few days of school. Schools, drivers, students, and families are all adjusting to new routines, so we appreciate your patience and understanding.

We’re ready, our drivers are ready, and our buses are ready. Let’s have a safe, successful, and GREAT school year, Spencer County!

Welcome back!

It is hard to believe that in just two short days, more than 3,000 students will return to Spencer County Schools for the start of another school year. We are excited to welcome our students back and begin a brand-new year together!

If you are new to our district, welcome to Spencer County! We are glad you are here and look forward to having your family as part of our school community. If you are a returning family, welcome back! Thank you for continuing to trust us with the safe transportation of your students each day.

Earlier today you should have received an email with the transportation information currently on file for your student. Please take a few moments to review the information, including your student's bus route, stop location, and estimated pickup and drop-off times. As we begin the school year, please remember that route times are estimates and may fluctuate during the first several days as students, families, drivers, and schools settle into their routines.

Our Transportation Department will have representatives available at all school open houses to answer questions and assist families with transportation information. You are also always welcome to reach out to me directly by email or by calling my office.

This marks my sixth school year with Spencer County Schools, and I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to once again serve our students, families, and community as your Director of Transportation. Our team has worked hard throughout the summer preparing our buses, routes, technology, and staff for the first day of school, and we are looking forward to another safe and successful year.

Thank you for your patience and support as we get the school year underway. We look forward to seeing our students on Thursday morning!

Spencer County Schools Transportation is excited to announce that bus route information for the 2026–2027 school year is now available.

Today, parents and guardians will be receiving emails from BusRight, our new transportation communication system. BusRight will provide your student's exact bus stop location and estimated pickup/drop-off times, along with real-time notifications throughout the school year.

Important Reminder: July 15 was the deadline to complete Online Registration for transportation services. Transportation routes have now been finalized based on the information received by that deadline.

If your family needs to make a transportation change from this point forward, please contact the Spencer County Schools Transportation Department as soon as possible so we can review and process your request.
