This Thanksgiving, Americans will consume:
46 Million turkeys each year,
80 million lbs of cranberries for cranberry sauce,
3 billion lbs of sweet potatoes,
25 million lbs of pumpkins for pumpkin pie,
80 million lbs of green beans,
23 million lbs of stuffing.
So as you sit down today with loved ones and see any one of these items in front of you on the table, be thankful for the Truck Driver.
When you’re standing at the gas pump, filling up your vehicle for your holiday travels, be thankful for the Truck Driver.
As you’re driving down the highway, headed to your next family gathering, and become frustrated with that 18-wheeler that won’t go faster up the hill, please know that he’s fully loaded and won’t be seeing his family this Thanksgiving; have patience and be thankful for the Truck Driver.
As you fight through the crowds of the shopping malls and department stores and see the fully-stocked shelves all around you, be thankful for the Truck Driver.
And finally, exhausted from the busy holiday weekend, filled with food, family and friends, and lay your head down on your pillow, remember where you bought that pillow from, and be thankful for the Truck Driver.
