From the Back Roads of Ohio to the Far Side of the Moon 🛰️🌎

​Today is a historic day for space exploration, and looking back to 2019, it’s a proud moment for our team.

​Over five years ago, we were part of the logistical mission to transport the Artemis I Orion spacecraft to the Neil Armstrong Test Facility (Plum Brook) in Sandusky. At the time, it was one of the most complex moves in the state—measuring over 22 feet tall, 16 feet wide and requiring a 130-foot, 38-wheel trailer to navigate Ohio’s rural infrastructure. Clearing 700+ utility lines along the route was just another day at the office for a project where there was zero margin for error.

​That 2019 move was all about testing—putting the capsule through extreme vacuum and thermal conditions to ensure it could handle the harsh reality of deep space.

​Fast forward to tonight: At approximately 8:07 PM EDT, the Artemis II crew is scheduled to splash down off the coast of San Diego after a record-breaking 10-day journey around the Moon.

​It’s incredible to see the hardware we helped move during its "blueprint" phase now successfully carrying four astronauts home. Heavy haul isn't just about moving weight; it’s about moving the future.

​Moving 248 tons isn't just about horsepower—it’s a masterclass in logistics, safety, and multi-agency coordination.
​This 17-mile transport through the heart of Ohio required over a month of meticulous planning, involving:
- Ohio State Highway Patrol & the Columbus Division of Police for specialized route safety and traffic control.
- On-site ODOT Bridge Monitors for structural integrity and engineering oversight.
- Utility Coordination to manage overhead infrastructure.
- Route Surveys & Site Prep to ensure every inch was accounted for.

​Tired of route surveys, utility bucket trucks, and 2,200-mile round trips at 35 mph? So were we. After months of secret testing, we’ve officially retired the "Dual-Lane" ground mindset for a "Triple-Altitude" approach.
​The Fleet Upgrade
​We’ve added two modified Sikorsky S-64 "Diamond Cranes" to the fleet. Linked by our proprietary Aero-Bridge, this setup allows us to maintain perfect stability over high-wind mountain passes and congested city centers.
​With Sky-Lift, we’ve eliminated the need for:
​Bridge clearance permits (the sky has no ceiling)
​State-line scale houses (no scales at 5,000 feet)
​Pilot cars (unless they have wings)
