ATTENTION FIRE ISLAND PINES: Effective immediately, off-season residential refuse collection is in effect. Garbage will continue to be collected Mondays and Thursdays, Door-to-Door.

Door-to-Door residential recycling is suspended. Two designated roll-off containers are staged on Fire Island Boulevard for the deposits of cardboard/paper AND metal/plastics #1 and #2.

This change affects Fire Island Pines ONLY.

Can you ditch the SINGLE USE plastic straw please?! Its so easy to just refuse it for one thing. If you prefer to still use a straw there are SO many options now that are reusable.
-bamboo
-silicone
-metal
-glass
-hard plastic (if you must stick with the plastic I guess)
I'm sure there are others.
