I have been derelict in my duty to make posts or take pictures of all of our efforts for those affected by the flood. Well, yesterday I got stuck in the mud after having loaded the 40th dump trailer full in 6 days. It was actually pretty funny.... I was there to help and the good neighbors ended up banding together and helping me get out of the mud!! And pictures....well, I just don't have the heart to take them. I just get caught up in helping as many as I can as fast as I can before the rain starts again. Hopefully today it won't rain.

The City of San Marcos Donation Center (200 Springtown Way) is open for pick-up of items by those in need. The center is open everyday from 8am-5pm. I wish I had taken pictures of the City of San Marcos front loaders arriving on River Road after Green Guy Recycling dropped 3 dumpsters on River Road. It was a great site to see how quickly they loaded up those dumpsters. But it was also so sad to see how many homes still had so many destroyed things still sitting out on the curb. We are coming to help you!!!

Green Guy Recycling is open today for household and metal recycling!

Our company is partnering with the City of San Marcos to help clean up after the flood. The City of San Marcos Division of Solid Waste is requesting that all residents and volunteers in disaster areas sort the debris into 3 piles: trash, household hazardous waste, and metal/appliances.

Green Guy Recycling will have trucks with trailers in disaster areas to pick up the metal. All collected metal will be weighed, and the value will be donated to the Central Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross. Customers at our facility can also donate their metal payment to this cause.
