Why did the Transportation Director cross the road (along with City Council District 3 Phyllis Viagran and a resident)? To showcase getting to the other side SAFER. Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons cut pedestrian crashes by 55%. We installed 3 along Pleasanton Rd.

Following Friday night’s severe storms, the City and CPS Energy continue working around the clock to restore power, clear debris and hazards, repair damaged infrastructure, and support our community as San Antonio recovers.

All six City Resilience Hubs remain open for residents who are still without power. On Saturday night, the hubs provided 84 overnight stays for residents and welcomed 18 pets. They are currently scheduled to remain open through noon Monday, August 31. The City will reassess conditions at that time and determine whether extended operations are needed.

During the day, City libraries and community centers remain available as places to stay cool.

For a map of the City’s Resilience Hubs and other storm recovery resources, visit SA.gov/HotWeather .

VIA Metropolitan Transit is offering free transportation to daytime cooling locations and overnight Resilience Hubs.
