NORA was thrilled to be a Bronze Level Sponsor of the Annual New Jersey Sharing Network's 5K Celebration of Life this past weekend in beautiful Ocean Grove!

This annual event began in 2011, and this year, it raised an amazing 1.3 million dollars, bringing the event's cumulative total soaring over 12 million in just over a decade!

Team NORA was on hand to engage with over 2,000 participants at the event and is honored to be a trusted partner to The New Jersey Sharing Network as they work to save and enhance lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation!

NORA sends our praise to the members of the US Congress for passing the bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill, which now awaits President Bidens signature. This legislation is a significant victory for the organ donation and transplantation community as it includes a provision to improve the safety and efficiency of transporting donor organs via commercial flights.

NORA has been honored to be a part of driving this push for change and we have been a part of focus group calls and webinars that have brought us this far!

The bill calls for the formal establishment of a working group of OPOs and professionals in fields of donation, transplantation, and aviation - identifying best practices and the submission of recommendations to the Secretary of Transportation.

Daily, NORA moves donated organs, teams, and tissues for transplantation nationwide. Our best in class solutions have benefited countless lives in our nearly 13 years of service.

Two days ago marked the culmination of National Donate Life Month. NORA maintained robust engagement with our transplant community partners all month long and our last two events were the 2024 Gift of Life Donor Program Donor Dash at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and the University of Kentucky Donor Wall Memorial event.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all operations team members, their families and our senior leaders who attended events nationwide over the past month. Their presence honored the courageous donors and celebrated the life-saving gift received by numerous recipients.

In a world that is ever-growing and changing, it's comforting to know that, in some ways, we are all connected, oftentimes more so than we may ever think. Many people find that they are less than six degrees of separation away from anyone else in a room, or, for that matter, anywhere in the world.

Pat, NORA's Chief Financial Officer, recently shared the touching story of Guadalupe Alejos, the brother of the grandfather of an associate of Pat's. The chain of people that brought this story to Pat truly embodies how close to home organ donation and transplantation are for so many.

In the spirit of National Donate Life Month and in honor of National Pediatric Transplant Week, this is Christina's story, a NORA story.

Week 3 of Donate Life Month has come to a close! Our staff took part in Donate Life Flag Raising ceremonies in Florida, a deeply moving charity art auction, and a remembrance gala in support of 20 years of the organ donation registry in North Carolina. Additionally, they participated in the 19th Annual Race for Life in Foley Beach, South Carolina and spread the love by dishing out NORA goodie boxes in our hometown of Chicago to all our transplant center partners!

Week #4 begins tonight at midnight, marking not only the final week of National Donate Life Month but also Pediatric Transplant Week.

NORA is immensely proud of all our staff for their participation at both local and national levels in support of this initiative, which honors all those affected by donation.
