We especially want to recognize the amazing women on our Shuttle Ruidoso team who work tirelessly every day serving our clients with kindness, compassion, and dedication. Whether behind the wheel, in dispatch, administration, or supporting operations behind the scenes, your hard work and caring hearts make a difference in the lives of so many people every single day.

The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services (NMDVS) Mobile Outreach Vehicle is in Ruidoso TODAY 10AM-3PM! This is a fantastic opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Veteran Service Officer to get the benefits and support you’ve earned. 🚐💨

What’s available?

Assistance with VA & State benefit applications

Guidance on healthcare, compensation, and pensions

Information on education benefits and state programs

📍 Where: Check the NMDVS schedule or stop by the Mobile Outreach unit in town!
📝 What to bring: Please have your DD-214, VA Award Letter, NM ID/Driver’s License, and any relevant marriage/death certificates (for survivors) ready to verify eligibility.

If you are a citizen that is medically dependent on devices that require electricity and are unable to drive yourself to a warming center, you can call the non-emergent dispatch number at 575-258-7365 and they will make arrangements to get you to a warming center.

With the winter storm continuing tonight, the Village of Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management has set up a warming center for anyone who is without power or doesn’t have a safe way to stay warm this evening.

Please don’t let pride get in the way of safety. There is absolutely no shame in asking for help or using the resources available. These services are here for moments exactly like this.

If you or someone you know is struggling with the cold, especially our medically fragile neighbors, help is available, including assistance getting to the warming center if needed.

Check on your people. Share this with anyone who might need it. Let’s take care of each other. 🤍

Don't underestimate heavy snow! It can bring multi-day power outages, block emergency routes, and cause communication loss from downed lines.

Action Plan: Stock your emergency kit, secure a safe alternative heat source, and heed the warning to stay off the roads. Also, ensure that you have a carbon monoxide detector! Preparation is your best defense!

🚨 Winter Weather Advisory | Service Update ❄️

Shuttle Ruidoso would like to notify our clients, members, and the general public that we are expecting winter weather conditions this evening and into tomorrow. These conditions may impact road safety and could potentially interrupt some of our scheduled service routes.

As a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) provider, our top priority is always the safety of our clients and our drivers. If road conditions become unsafe or impassable due to ice, snow, or overnight freezing, we may be unable to complete some transportation requests.

We want to provide advance notice so that, if needed, clients can:
• Plan ahead
• Reschedule medical appointments
• Arrange alternate transportation

We understand how important medical appointments are and do not make these decisions lightly. Any service adjustments will be based solely on road conditions and safety considerations.

Please continue to monitor weather conditions and stay safe. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to serve our community responsibly during winter weather.
