A great morning celebrating the official opening of our newest driver license office in Tabor City! This office is open to appointments and walk-ins Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

NCDMV has three more driver license office openings planned for next year, one in Fuquay-Varina, Cabarrus County, and Wake Forest/Rolesville. We’re excited to continue to bring DMV services closer to home for NC residents.

Every year, North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles handles approximately 27 million transactions for North Carolinians. Behind each one is a team of employees working to keep our state moving.

And approximately 2 million times each year, NCDMV employees also ask North Carolinians a question that can change lives: “Would you like to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor?”

That simple question gives people the opportunity to say yes and leave a lasting legacy of hope for others.

Starting Oct. 1, North Carolina drivers no longer need to display a license plate sticker. We’re advising drivers to remove any old stickers to avoid confusion, especially if you’re traveling out of state.

If you’re having trouble removing the old stickers, try warming the sticker first with a heat gun, a hair dryer, or by parking in the sun.
