🚦Get ready for a smarter, safer I-15!

RCTC is booting up the I-15 Smart Freeway Pilot Project along the northbound I-15 in Temecula and Murrieta.

As the first-of-its-kind system in California, the system will use real-time traffic sensors, adaptive ramp meters, and dynamic messaging signs to help traffic flow more smoothly without adding new lanes.

As the pilot begins, drivers may notice slightly longer wait times at on-ramps that will fluctuate based on traffic conditions. The goal is to create fewer stop-and-go points and allow more reliable travel times through one of Riverside County’s busiest corridors.
