We began Indian Creek Express, LLC as a one truck: one trailer hot asphalt hauler leased to a local carrier in 1998. In late 1999, we learned we were expecting our first child and decided to grow our business and our family at the same time. Our first phase of growth ushered in our own FMCSA Authority, or first set of temperature controlled trailers, a loan that used up just about everything we ha
d in the bank and 2 leased owner operators. Donne agreed to continue to lease his truck to the other carrier while we learned the ropes a bit on the reefer side of things. With much prayer and faith, we dove into a new side of the trucking industry. WE contracted with a few owner operators and bought a few trailers at a time for a few years. By then, Donne and I began to formulate a new vision for a larger company. By 2003, we were up to six of our own trailers and Donneβs truck (a 2001 Freightliner Classic). We felt we were secure enough to purchase our first set of three company owned trucks. In August, 2003, just before the arrival of our second child, we added 3 red 1999 Freightliner Century trucks. We hired our first set of company drivers at the end of August and set a course for a new goal shortly after that. Responsible growth has always been a priority for us. Each time we have set a growth goal, we carefully analyze the financial stability of our customers, or company and the future provisions we would need to sustain the additions and continue to grow. This model has allowed us steady growth each year since we began even through two significant recession periods in our nation. We consistently met or exceeded our growth goals. By 2005 we had grown up top 10 company owned trucks and a few owner operators. By April, 2005 at the arrival of our third child, it was decided that Donne would put a company driver into his beloved Classic, and take a job at the desk. Since then, Indian Creek Express, LLC has flourished like we had only dreamed it would have. We quickly outgrew our 30x40 shop at our home and decided to move to a commercial property in the town of Pierce, Colorado in late 2006. From that time, we have grown from 10 company trucks to over 40 company trucks, 6 contracted owner operator trucks, 60 trailers and 3 local delivery trucks. Our onsite staff includes 6 skilled fleet technicians, 3 dispatchers, one accounting manager and Donne and April of course. All together we employ over 50 people! We are proud to operate with integrity to help provide for so many families. We take that provision seriously, it is the reason that we do things the way that we do them, and we hope that in doing so, we honor each one of you. We look forward to a bright future that includes our relationship with you.
