Even Baby Liam had a blast at Abers Towing and Crane Service 2nd Annual Touch-a-Truck event on Saturday. Thanks to all who turned out for a beautiful day. The proceeds for the event went to Associated Charities / Ashland County Food Bank.

It was a hot one at the 2024 Ohio Vintage Truck Reunion. Thank you, Rick, and Andy, for another fun truck show weekend. Thank you also to the event organizers for another great family event in the Ashland County area. The reunion featured trucking memorabilia display, Truck model contest, hourly door prizes, swap meet, truck crawl "country convoy" dinner cruise, truck light display, and silent auction all for the benefit of the Associated Charities / Ashland County Food Bank.

The Chillicothe Kenworth 50th Anniversary Truck Show and Parade was a great success. Rick Tilley, Andy Fike, and Jake Heimberger worked hard over the weekend to get Truck #10 and Truck #20 shined up for the show. Kenworth did an amazing job planning a tour of the factory for the drivers, a family fun day and picnic on Saturday with the truck show and of course, the crowning event, the truck parade through the streets of Chillicothe. It was reported that 20,000 people attended the parade. If you are a Kenworth ju**ie, this was the parade for you!

It is with sadness that we inform you that Ron Huffman, a long-time driver, and friend of Cowen Truck Line, has passed away. Ron’s personality of joy, generosity and purple passion is legendary at Cowen Truck Line.

Known for his purple glasses, his multiple collections, and the little “treats” he left for his work friends, Ron was one of a kind. Ron loved the Indy 500 and his red Kia decked out in Cowen Truck Line colors.

Ron, you were a beloved friend and co-worker, and you will be greatly missed.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ANDY FIKE - 2023 COWEN TRUCK LINE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Andy started at Cowen Truck Line in 2010 as a local and regional driver. Since 2010, Andy has logged over 1.4 million miles at Cowen. According to Andy, there are only 2 states remaining, Montana and Maine, that he has yet to travel in a truck.

Andy was the unanimous choice for Employee of the Year. He has achieved this honor by taking on additional duties and responsibilities in his position. Andy has taken the initiative to become a Smith System trainer as well as additional safety professional training. He is an active member of the safety committee and the driver committee. Andy also assists with ND dash cam training and coaching.

In his spare time, Andy enjoys dirt track racing. Despite his love for Michigan football, we are very proud to name Andy Fike the 2024 Cowen Truck Line EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR.

CONGRATULATIONS RANDY LEASURE – 2023 COWEN TRUCK LINE DRIVER OF THE YEAR

Randy Leasure has been driving professionally for over 45 years. Over his career, he has logged over 4 million miles with over 1.4 million miles at Cowen.

During his tenure at Cowen Truck Line, Randy has shown himself to be a very reliable and hard working driver. He has a great working relationship with his co-workers and with Cowen customers. Randy approaches his work with enthusiasm and dedication every day.

Randy is very committed to safety and has received multiple driver and safety awards over his career. He received a 9-year safety award this year. He has achieved a high standard by having an excellent CSA score for the last 10 years. In addition, Randy has been a top fuel mileage performer and drive cam performer.
Randy loves spending time with his grandchildren. Randy is known affectionately in dispatch as RANDPA!
