Gate-checking your own seat is free, but you're hauling it through every terminal, hoping it doesn't get damaged on the tarmac. Renting through your transportation provider means one less thing to carry and one less thing to worry about.

Installation is everything.
A car seat that isn't properly installed offers almost no protection. Before you book any ride — rideshare, shuttle, or private car — ask who installs the seat and how they're trained to do it.

Questions every parent should ask:

✅ Who installs it — and are they trained?
