Severe high tides and waves have temporarily closed the coastal rail line in San Clemente while crews perform emergency stabilization work. Metrolink, Pacific Surfliner and freight service are affected. No reopening time is known as of now. Info: https://bit.ly/4gUAfh7

Metrolink, in coordination with OCTA, is performing emergency repair work along the rail line in San Clemente to secure and stabilize the track. The rail line in this area continues to experience stabilization issues caused by ongoing high tides and swell activity. Emergency repairs are currently underway, with crews placing large boulders, or riprap, to help stabilize the track. Additional emergency repairs may be conducted as necessary based on field conditions.

⚠️During this emergency work, Metrolink Orange County Line trains will originate and terminate at the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station. Passenger rail service south of Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo will be suspended for the Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines due to conditions along the coastal rail corridor. Monday service may also be impacted. Pacific Surfliner service is temporarily suspended between Irvine and Oceanside.

OC Streetcar testing is becoming more frequent and routine along the full route between the Santa Ana Train Station and the Harbor/Westminster stop in Garden Grove. As testing increases, streetcar activity will become more noticeable throughout the community, including horn and bell sounds, as preparations continue for passenger service early next year.
