Effective October 1, 2023, Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) rates will be increasing. The new user fees are outlined below:
Minimum MPF on informal entries (shipments valued under $2500 USD) will increase from $2.37 to $2.53
Minimum MPF on formal entries (shipments valued over $2500 USD) will increase from $29.66 to $31.67.
Maximum MPF on a formal entry will increase from $575.35 to $614.35.Please note that the MPF ad valorm rate of 0.3464% will not change.

Effective October 1, 2022, the Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) ad valorem rate of 0.3464% will NOT change. The MPF minimum and maximum for formal entries (class code 499) WILL change. The minimum will change from $27.75 to $29.66; and the maximum will change from $538.40 to $575.35. This applies to non USMCA eligible goods.
Some other fees that are changing:
The fee for Informal Entry/Release, automated and not prepared by CBP personnel (class code 311a), will change to $2.37.
This is a US Customs fee and can not be negotiated.

Smartboder system is currently down. This is why you/ we can not process or see entries.
Message from them:

We are currently aware of a SmartBorder system outage and we are working on a resolution.

Starting at approximately 10:50 AM this morning there was an issue with our SQL databases.

We hope to have this resolved asap. We will provide updates as they become available.

CBP to Require Proof of Full COVID-19 Vaccination at Canada, Mexico Land Ports of Entry at Midnight.

CBP will require proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 from non-citizens and non-permanent residents coming into the U.S. through land ports of entry from Canada and Mexico beginning at 12 a.m. EST on Jan. 22.

Limited exceptions will apply, including for minors and travelers with valid non-immigrant visas, including B-1 business visas, who are citizens of a country with limited COVID-19 vaccine availability.

Truck drivers and rail operators are not exempt, CBP said.
