Our Story
MOTAA was founded in response to the growing need for unified representation of minority-owned transportation businesses. Inspired by successful organizations such as Women in Trucking, MPTA, and COMTO, our founders recognized the unique challenges faced by minority entrepreneurs in the transportation sector. Together, they identified four critical areas where collective action could drive meaningful change:
• Representation in policymaking
• Economic empowerment through training and resources
• Building powerful national and local networks
• Creating sustainable revenue streams for long-term growth

Today, MOTAA serves as the premier advocate for minority-owned transportation businesses, with chapters across the country and a growing network of successful entrepreneurs who are transforming the industry. Our Network
🌎 Regional & Local Chapters – Grassroots support and networking in key transportation hubs.
🤝 Local Meetups – In-person and virtual gatherings to connect, share, and grow together.
🚛 Specialized Groups – Targeted support for trucking, logistics, freight brokerage, and more. Hopson, Founder/CEO

As we reflect on this past year, we’re proud of the impact made together.

From hands-on trainings that equipped our members, to helping people access funding and job opportunities, to showing up for families through a successful toy drive, this year was about action and results.

We’re also honored to have been recognized with a 2025 Power & Purpose Awards nomination, a meaningful reminder that the work being done is being seen and felt beyond our organization.

None of this happens alone. It happens through partnership, commitment, and a shared belief in creating real opportunities within our communities.

Thank you to our members, supporters, and partners for making this year one to remember. We’re building momentum and moving forward with purpose.

This season, we’re grateful for our members, partners, supporters, and every family we’ve had the opportunity to serve throughout the year. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and your continued support makes the work possible.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, joyful, and peaceful holiday season. ❤️

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us exactly why we do this work.

Over the past few weeks, our team came together to collect toys, and seeing that long line of families and excited kids made it all worth it. From parents to grandparents, hearing how this moment brought hope, relief, and smiles to their homes meant everything to us.

We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors, especially Burger King, for showing up in a big way and helping us serve our community.

This is only the beginning for Minority Owned Transportation Association of America. We’re committed to doing more, reaching more families, and continuing to show up when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who supported, donated, volunteered, and believed in this mission. Christmas was brighter because of you .

Family, we are only 32 toys away from hitting our goal of 200 toys.

That means 100 kids will wake up with smiles this Christmas because of what we did together.
Let’s finish strong. MOTAA, we can do this.

If you’d like to donate, send a message and we’ll get you the details.

Every toy counts. Every smile matters.
