❤️🖤Our transportation family celebrated the wrap-up of a wonderful school year with a luau today. We would like to recognize all of our staff who have contributed to our successful operations this year! We are thrilled to say that during this school year, we have not had to cancel or split up any routes because of the dedication of our team. A huge thank you to Tru-Fi Credit Union and Darbyville for helping provide the meal. Finally, thanks to our community for the love and support you’ve shown our staff over this past year. We hope you all have a well-deserved, relaxing summer break. See you in August!

We kicked off Driver Appreciation Week with a “Water Tok” bar sponsored by our community partners at the Baker Prevention Coalition, Inc. Our drivers picked their flavor of choice for a refreshing drink on a warm Monday. At BC Transportation, we appreciate all of our dedicated bus drivers. They keep our students rolling in the right direction!🚌

💛🚌Baker’s Best in Transportation🚌💛

Driver: Yolanda Baggett
Years of Service: 20

Yolanda Baggett is a veteran driver with 20 years of service to the families in Baker County. Throughout her two decades of driving a bus, she has been an important member of our transportation family!

Yolanda is a 1983 graduate of Baker County High School and loves working in the community she grew up in. One of her favorite things about driving a bus is being given the opportunity to have a small impact in the lives of the students on her bus. Recently, she received a message from a former student that brought her so much joy. The student wrote, “You were one of the best bus drivers I ever had and made a big difference in my life. I had a rough childhood and you made me feel heard and seen. I appreciated everything you brought into my life. Your kindness made a difference...”

Join us in thanking Yolanda Baggett for her commitment to our students and their families in Baker County!

💛🚌Baker’s Best in Transportation🚌💛

Driver: Kim Kyer
Years of Service: 31

Mrs. Kim Kyer has been with the Baker County School District Transportation Department since 1993 and is one of our senior drivers. She begins her route at 5:40 a.m. and rarely misses a day of work. Kim has a deep love for her community and when asked what has kept her driving for so long, she simply replied, “my children”. She has built lifelong bonds with students who all love Mrs. Kim. We are so thankful that she is part of our transportation family!

We are so excited to welcome back our students and drivers this morning! We thought we would start off the second semester on a positive note. Before Christmas break, Director Wyatt Milton recognized a lot of students for excellent behavior on the bus. These students are always on task and are role models for the other students. Join us in congratulating all of these students on a job well-done!

Due to the large amount of rain that Baker County has received in the last 24 hours, many of our dirt roads are not safe for our buses, and possibly cars, to travel on to transport our students safely. Tomorrow, Monday (12/18), buses will not be able to transport students living on dirt roads. If you are unable to transport your student due to the condition of your road, your child will be excused from school tomorrow.
