We are fundraising! MyRIDE Lubbock is seeking your support to help transportation-disadvantaged individuals access essential services and engage in life-enriching activities within our community. We plan to start offering rides in July, but first need to secure funding to help pay for equipment, scheduling software, background checks, and volunteer insurance to ensure smooth operations.

Your generous donation can make a significant impact on someone's life. Every dollar directly funds our operations, enabling us to provide free rides to those who need them most. Together, we can help drive change in Lubbock!

Welcome to MyRIDE Lubbock. We are a new, non-profit, 501(c)(3), volunteer transportation program. We are currently fundraising to purchase our ride scheduling software, equipment, and background check programming so that we can offer our riders a safe and efficient ride experience. Rides begin in early 2025!

MyRIDE Lubbock was started by Belinda Alexander, a local Occupational Therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience. When Belinda was performing paratransit assessments, she recognized a gap in local transportation services that many older adults faced. That gap was caused by a lack of funding to pay for paratransit services, compounded by the inability to schedule multiple stops during a trip. After researching possible solutions, Belinda discovered volunteer transportation programming and began the process of creating a local volunteer transportation program that could serve Lubbock’s low-income older adults. This need turned into her passion, thus began the creation of MyRIDE Lubbock, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

In addition to providing volunteer transportation services, MyRIDE Lubbock also aims to be a community mobility resource for the Lubbock area by providing information for “all things community mobility related”, such as the aging driver, driving retirement, local transportation options, and information related to local driver rehabilitation services.
