🚧 REMINDER: PLANNED HWY CLOSURE: LA 308 at Lafourche Crossing beginning Monday, February 5, 2024 at 7 a.m. 🚧

From Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD): LA 308 is expected to be fully closed by 7 a.m. Monday morning until 6 p.m. on March 9, 2024, for repairs to the Lafourche Crossing BNSF Railroad Bridge. The closure will be at the railway overpass between Bartley Lane and Webster Road. Drivers should detour to LA 1 via the bridges at LA 648 (Percy Brown Road) and LA 649 (St. Charles Bypass).

How dare they not mention I’m still closed too.

There are no weather-related road or bridge closures in Lafourche Parish. Please note the West Larose Lift Bridge remains CLOSED due to mechanical issues, and all traffic must detour to the LA 308 overpass in Larose. Please drive safely, and try to stay warm.

With all this cold weather I wanted to warn people I have ice on me but it doesn’t matter since I’m still broken. Hopefully this cold weather will force all politicians to keep their hands in their own pockets for a little while so maybe I can’t get fixed.

Wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. The cost of groceries, fast food, building materials, and most anything you can name has increased dramatically.

When is day of remembrance for bridges that got neglected? Asking for myself.

Today on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, DOTD and remembers the many millions who have been killed and seriously injured on the world’s roads and acknowledges the suffering of all affected victims, families, and communities.

We also pay tribute to the dedicated emergency crews, police, and medical professionals, who deal daily with the traumatic aftermath of road crashes.
