Exhibit Logistics and Covid-19! With the return of two international shows in February, TWI had sited two shows for the first time since the Covid-19 restrictions had stopped all shows and travel. From our experiences, we learned a great deal on what to expect when more shows come back and travel becomes the norm:
1. Teams - We learned that we need to keep our multiple staff at show site separate and possibly in even different hotels. As Covid spreads, it could be that one of our team members will catch Covid and in order to minimize the spread to the whole entire TWI Team, it would be best to keep our colleagues separated.
2. Hotels - Choose hotels that will have Covid-19 testing and part of the testing that the show sites will require. Again, have multiple staff stay at different hotels if possible and be sure different rooms / floors to keep distances.
3. Travel - We should arrive earlier at shows and also plan to stay later. With testing requirements changing, and procedures fluid, it will be best to spend extra days on the inbound to get acclimated to the systems and sort yourself out with hotel requirements, flight requirements and etc. Also, we should be booking refundable travel in both air and hotels in case plans change.
We look forward to when shows return in a more robust way this fall. At the same time, we all need to take charge of our situations and plan the best we can for success to happen for the exhibitors, the organizers and all our industry colleagues.
