Frequently asked questions about Aviation Camp:

When can I register a child? Registration will open in March and will be posted on facebook and laporteairport.com

What do kids do during camp? Students will have a weather-dependent flight from a local pilot, spend time on the airport's FAA-Certified flight simulator, hear from aviation professionals, engage in hands-on STEM activities, go on an off-site field trip, and more!

How much does camp cost? $50/student. This year there will be an optional additional trip for camp students to go to EAA Airventure in Oshkosh with a chaperone, that will be an additional expense.

Mark your calendars: this year's aviation camp is taking a bus to Oshkosh again!

Registration for camp will open up late March. Camp 2026 will be June 8-12. As always, there will be a morning session and afternoon session available. Once open, registration will be posted on Facebook and at laporteairport.com

The trip to Oshkosh is an optional add-on to camp, and will take place Thursday, July 23.

Ground school starts tonight! We look forward to meeting those who have signed up. Tonight and Thursday we will be going over what it takes to get your private pilot certificate and what the classes will be going over moving forward. We will also be completing a pretrip on our plane to help familiarize the students to the various components of the aircraft.
