Most of your miles happen while you're asleep.
Running at night isn't a hardship, it's the plan. The water's flatter, the traffic's thinner, the bridges you need are on a schedule, and the tide you want is at 0300 whether anyone likes it or not.
So you stand your watch, you keep a proper lookout, you log the hour, and somewhere around four in the morning you pass under a lit bridge in a city where everybody else is in bed.
You'll get a position update in the morning. This is what was happening while you read it.
