**RANDOM DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENINGS**
This position is for a truck driver:
Drive a truck and trailer (log trailer/chip van) to haul logs/wood chips in a safe and efficient manner to designated mills in the surrounding local area. Home every night. Most days our trucks are back in the yard by 6pm. Friday's are short days. Trucks are back in the yard by 2-3pm. Of course there are days, out of our control.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
An employee is expected/required to Drive a truck and trailer to haul logs/chips from logging sites to the mill.
Employee should apply their knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering the truck at varying speeds in difficult situations: such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, or in tight loading/unloading areas off highway and private dirt roads
Abides by all Company, DOT, State and Federal transportation safety regulations
Employee will be expected to help throw chains on long wood loads going out the woods.Ensure ALL loads are properly secured,
Required to complete a Pre/Post Trip Inspections everyday. To include: Inspecting tractor, trailer and equipment for defects and safe operating condition before (pre-trip) and after trips as applicable also when stopped during the work day. Submit a driver’s daily/weekly vehicle inspection report on the condition of the tractor/ trailer no later than the end of the week UNLESS there are problems that should be addressed sooner.
Must Perform basic preventative maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressures are maintained, etc.
Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver's load sheets, records of fuel purchased/pumped at the shop, mileage records and other records required by law, or by Company standards
Ensures that all shipping documentation (bills of landing, weight tickets, etc.) required to move with shipment are available for inspection, that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipments when delivered, and that signed load tickets from delivery are turned in daily.
