We had an issue with our phone being damaged and the new phone not cooperating.

We appear to have everything up and running now. We seem to have only been absolutely unavailable for the last hour or so but not all calls today may have made it through while the old phone was still on but damaged.

Hutch Taxi has been under new ownership for a couple of years. We are now veteran operated and licensed, bonded and insured.

Problematic drivers of years past have been replaced with people who have been thoroughly vetted with extensive background checks to insure good driving history, no drug use, no s*x offenders and no one with a history of domestic violence. Drivers are deliberately trained in defensive driving and those who cannot meet our high standards are let go.

The inherited fleet of vehicles that were plagued with mechanical issues are being replaced with newer more well maintained vehicles as time and finances allow.

Our commitment is to provide a safe ride in the most efficient manner we can. We stand firm on certain principles and as such will not tolerate morally bankrupt drivers in our ranks nor will we raise prices when times get tough or bad weather occurs.

We will expand hours and drivers as we continue to search for and recruit drivers who match our core standard of ethics.

Hutch Taxi is not only happy to serve our community as a business but we also look for ways to give back and as such provide bulk discounts for workers and free rides for the food bank for people who otherwise would not be able to receive food without transportation.

We had an issue with the primary phone this morning but it has been fixed and phone is ringing again. We apologize for any inconvenience. We acted as quickly as we could as soon as we became aware of the issue.

Hutch Taxi is happy to announce a promotional discount for work rides that is packed with savings. We understand times are getting tough but getting to and from work still needs to be a priority.

To assist workers in our community we now offer a variety of bulk discounts:

5 for 4 - buy 5 rides for the price of 4 and save $10. Lowers the price per ride to $8.

20 for 15 - saves $50 and lowers the price per ride to $7

50 for 30 - saves $200 and lowers the price per ride to just $6

200 for 100 - for our to and from 5 days a week workers this saves you $1,000 and lowers the price per ride to just $5

We accept all major forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, cash app and venmo. Purchases can be made over the phone or in person.

We also have a computerized scheduling system so pairing your work schedule with us can take the hassle out of remembering to call for a ride in time to get to work. We will simply show up, on time and take the worry out of securing reliable transportation.

Unfortunately our efforts to be active today were stalled by extreme road conditions and frozen snow.

Given that one of our cabs blew a torque converter Friday afternoon we just haven't seen the sense in risking losing another cab on just snow when conditions are this bad all across the state. We have no interest in being one of the vehicles stranded at an intersection or stuck on the actual road.

We empathize and understand with people still needing transportation and we hope to be back up when plows have done their job. Most likely by the morning.

After retrieving a cab that was a casualty of last night's extreme road weather we are back up and taking calls again.

We are out with only one driver and the roads are still dangerous so patience is appreciated. But the current driver is straight from Alaska and probably one of if not the best winter driver in the state of Kansas.

Our first priority will be getting to people currently still without power who are cold so they can go somewhere safe and warm. Next will be work rides. We will do our best to fit in all other rides as time and conditions allow.
