**DISPATCHER APPRECIATION WEEK**
When there is an emergency, the FIRST, first responders are dispatchers.
Let’s be honest…they don’t always get the recognition they deserve. This week is National Dispatcher Appreciation Week and we at the DCSD want to brag on our dispatchers. They are a hard working, dedicated group who put others first. Always.
Today we highlight Bravo shift:
Sgt Annie Wood, DeeAnna Davis, Chassie Pugh, Heather Holden, and Katie Flynn.
Bravo shift dispatch is made up of "lifer" dispatchers. By that we mean… they chose this job as their career and have longevity in the field. Bravo shift has more than 100 years of combined experience. Like most teams, each of them has a special skill set that they bring to the table to make up the team. Bravo shift not only works together, but they get together outside of work. They are family. Bravo believes bringing that dynamic into their shift helps to create a better working environment along with an additional level of trust and acceptance of one another. They love to laugh and have fun but their hearts are in their job every day. Helping people is number one. DCSD Dispatchers strive to be better today than they were yesterday…every single day. No matter how many years of experience they have, they all agree on one thing…Every day is a day to learn something new. This job is ever changing and ever evolving.
DCSD Dispatch Captain Stephanie Grosmann says, “This shift of dispatchers is dedicated and their longevity is proof. They show up every day to put their best foot forward, for not only each other, but for every citizen and responder. They are the true meaning of ‘one team one dream’ that we have quoted for many years now. One team of dispatchers dreaming of the best possible outcome with every call. They treat everyone like family and that’s what makes their shift special.”
Thank you, Bravo, for all you do.
