In 2014, something extraordinary brought the quiet streets of Hermann to a standstill. Residents along West 7th, West 8th, and West 9th Streets near Washington began reporting a massive, low-hovering object—spanning nearly two blocks and lingering just above treetop level. Word spread quickly, and more than 60 people made their way up toward Stone Hill to get a better view. What they saw left them stunned: a strange, almost transparent presence with a faint light, unlike anything they had ever witnessed before. Many lifelong locals stood in disbelief, unable to explain what hovered over their town that evening. To this day, no clear answers have surfaced… and like many in Hermann, we’re still waiting for it to return.
