Steep turns at golden hour 🌅✈️

When we bank, we convert vertical lift into horizontal lift producing a turn, and then increase pitch to compensate for the loss of vertical lift.

Increasing lift increases drag, so we smoothly add power to maintain airspeed.

Opposite-side traffic pattern entry ✈️

The Airplane Flying Handbook recommends overflying the pattern by at least 500’ AGL, then using a teardrop or 45° entry to join the downwind. At airports with frequent turbine traffic, crossing at 1,000’ above traffic pattern altitude is recommended.
