We're the first to admit it - marketing isn't our forte. But when it comes to fixing trucks, we're the best in the business! Our team of expert truck doctors can handle any repair job, from trailers to engines. The problem is, marketing requires a different set of skills - and a torque wrench just won't do the trick. That's where our junior marketers come in - they're a team of two volunteers who are eager to help us out as long as it’s a cool art project! Another Rant Post!!!
Customer calls, asks if we can lift the trailer. I get ahold of our tow company, they give an estimate and eta. I get back on the line with the company with the information, and they say “ oh that’s too much, can you give a discount?” My reply, “No sir, that takes a special truck when it’s loaded, I’m not the one that let it sink, why would I discount that?” Customer-“yes sir I understand, how much cheaper?” I reply again, “ not any cheaper” he says “how about 500?” I hang up.

This negotiation tactic needs to stop. No wonder the trucking industry isn’t the way it once was.

While we’re at it, picking on my fellow mechanics, FIX THINGS THE RIGHT WAY THE VERY FIRST TIME!!! The previous mechanic apparently broke a bolt on the oil hubcap. Instead of fixing it right, they proceeded to drill and tap new holes through the hubcap and into the face of this hub. WHY?!??!

No one is safe from suggestions and constructive criticism.
Today we pick on the technicians, mechanics, l**e techs, road warriors, whatever you call yourselves. This trailer was just in the shop a week or so ago getting brakes replaced. Apparently it was just a quick pad slap job, and the drums were overlooked. This is what happens when a brake drum finishes cracking while going down the highway. The drum will blow up into pieces and come out at 65+ mph. Can you imagine what this could have done to a passenger car, another unit, etc?!?! We HAVE TO DO BETTER!! No excuse for this to happen.
