We wanted to thank Deer Harbor Marina and Friday Harbor Chamber of Commerce for letting us be a part of the fireworks shows on the 3rd and 4th. Western Display Fireworks put on phenomenal shows both nights! We would love to see any pictures or videos from a different perspective! Happy Fourth of July everyone🎆

We are excited to announce Pintail Marine is now under new ownership. As the new owners, Jon, Jenn and our son Will Schmid, we are thrilled for this exciting adventure. Jon will be on board for day to day operations along with Captain Mark, who will be staying on with us moving forward. From time to time you might even catch a glimpse of our aspiring mate, Will. Although owning/operating is new to us, the Maritime industry is not. Jon’s experience in the industry ranges from commercial fishing throughout Alaska to most recently working as a Port Engineer for a commercial tug and barge company.
Ivan, the previous owner, has been so helpful to make this transition seamless. We truly are grateful for all his help. You may notice a new name floating around, Pintail Marine Logistics, but rest assured we strive to provide the best and most reliable service around.
We understand each job presents a unique set of challenges but that’s the fun part, trying to figure out the logistics of each job. Reach out, let’s work together on your next project!

Hello Fellow Islanders,

We hope this finds you well.

We want to let you know about a few logistical changes happening that will help us better serve our San Juan County community.

As of May 1, Pintail will be primarily based out of Friday Harbor. We are still available for runs from Anacortes, but will be focusing most of our efforts on serving customers within the islands.

Our understanding is that, by the end of next month, Pintail will be the ONLY landing craft barge based out of Friday Harbor and we want to make sure San Juan County customers are well taken care of. We are perfectly positioned to provide quality service at cost effective prices anywhere in the county.

We have over 1000 sq ft. of deck space available, a 4 ton crane, can carry up to 6 vehicles, and have a capacity of 200,000 lbs. We also have the longest ramps in the business, providing a smoother angle for loading and unloading. See a deck diagram at https://www.pintailmarine.com/services.

Got material you want to deck load and move to a job site? We can handle it! We have recently added a rugged all terrain forklift (5000 lbs capacity) to our capabilities as well.

General Share Fare Update

While we are always happy to offer a full fare run anywhere in the San Juan Islands, departing from either Anacortes or Friday Harbor, the following share fares are generally available each week as well:

Brown Island - Normally Monday and Thursday afternoons

Crane Island - Normally Monday and Thursday afternoons, or Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Decatur Island - Eastbound to Anacortes on Monday and Thursday afternoon/evenings. Westbound on demand.

Blakely Island - Eastbound to Anacortes on Monday and Thursday afternoon/evenings. Westbound on demand.
