Leaving the Florida coast behind and pointing east toward the Bahamas. 🇺🇸➡️🇧🇸
Nothing like the view from a classic DC-3 ,the wingspan stretching across the sky, the radial engine roaring steady, and endless blue water ahead.

This is more than cargo flying… this is aviation history still hard at work every single day. ✈️☀️

“Wednesday at the office” hits a little different when your desk is a classic DC-3 and your view is the endless blues of the Bahamas.

Captain Yori Meroovich shares this incredible moment flying over Andros Island where turquoise waters meet the horizon and every mile feels like a step back in aviation history. The steady hum of those radial engines, the wing cutting through the island breeze… this is more than a job, it’s a privilege.

From the cockpit of a legend, this is what midweek looks like. ✈️🌊

Sound on!!

There’s nothing quite like bringing a classic to life.
The left radial engine of the DC-3 slowly turning… then that deep rumble as it catches, raw power, history, and precision all in one moment.

Oil pressure rising, cylinders firing, and that unmistakable radial roar filling the air. This is where every flight begins.

Behind every successful flight is a hardworking ground crew making it happen. Nothing would be possible without the team on the ramp, operating forklifts, building pallets, carefully loading each aircraft, and making sure every pound is placed exactly where it needs to be.

With the DC-3, weight and balance is everything, and our crew handles that responsibility with precision and professionalism every day. Their dedication keeps Florida Air Cargo moving safely and efficiently.

This is what loading a DC-3 is all about—teamwork, experience, and pride in the job.

Golden hour hits different from the left seat view.

The DC-3’s left wing stretching into the sky, the radial engine humming steady, and that perfect shadow dancing across the water painted by the sun itself. Moments like this remind us why these legends still fly.

Classic lines, timeless power, and a view that never gets old.

Crosswinds and cargo, just another day in the islands.

Our Cessna Caravan powers off the runway in Staniel Cay, Bahamas, fighting steady crosswinds as it climbs out over the crystal-clear waters. These conditions are all part of the job, and our crew is always ready to deliver safely and on time.

From short island strips to shifting winds, Florida Air Cargo keeps the lifeline moving, one flight at a time.

Another day at the office… but not your typical one.

From the right seat of the DC-3, there’s nothing quite like watching that right radial come alive and settle into its steady rhythm. Oil pressure rising, props biting the air, and the sound—that unmistakable sound—reminds you this isn’t just a job, it’s a legacy in motion.

Today’s run was just another reminder of why we do it. Miles of blue water below, freight in the back, and a machine built in another era still doing exactly what it was designed to do—work.

Every vibration, every glance out at that spinning radial, tells a story of decades past… and we get to keep writing the next chapter.

Old school. Still hauling. Still flying.

Today it appears in a snow-white color scheme—but its story dates back to the heart of World War II.

This aircraft rolled off the assembly line at McDonnell Douglas’ Long Beach, CA plant on July 30, 1943. It was assigned serial number 9967 and designated as a C-47A-45DL, promptly delivered to the Army’s 8th Air Force with tail number 42-24105.

Like many vintage aircraft, parts of its history remain untold. Decades later, in 1972, it was rediscovered in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ—waiting for a second chance.

From there, it entered the civilian world with Air Freight Inc., and after a series of tail number changes, it eventually found its way to Skyfreighters.

In 2001, it came under Florida Air Cargo’s wing—where its legacy continues. Still flying, still working, and still proving that legends never retire.

N271SE — One Sierra Echo

If an airplane could sweat, its skin would tell the story—and N271SE wears every hour of hard work with pride. Weathered, worn, and full of character, she carries the marks of years spent doing what she was built for: getting the job done.

The youngest bird in the Florida Air Cargo fleet, One Sierra Echo rolled out of the McDonnell Douglas factory in Tulsa, OK, on January 10, 1945. Assigned serial number 15676 and designated as a C-47B-29-DK, she was born in a time when reliability meant everything—and that legacy still lives on today.

Decades later, she’s still hauling, still flying, and still proving that true workhorses never quit.
