This EMS Week, we honor the men and women who answer the call—day or night, rain or shine, on the hardest days and in the most difficult moments.

Behind every siren is a team of dedicated professionals who show up with compassion, courage, and commitment to serving others. EMS providers don’t just save lives; they offer comfort in chaos, strength during uncertainty, and hope when it’s needed most.

To all EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, first responders, and support staff: thank you for the sacrifices you make, the long hours you work, and the hearts you pour into caring for your communities. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Happy EMS Week to the heroes who continue to make a difference every single day. 🚑❤️

To Our Incredible Telecommunicators,

Every call you answer is the beginning of someone’s lifeline. Behind every siren, every life saved, and every reassuring word in chaos, there’s you — calm, steady, and ready when people need help the most.
Your voices bring clarity to confusion, comfort to fear, and coordination to every emergency we face. You turn panic into action and ensure that our crews arrive prepared, informed, and able to make a difference.
We see your tireless dedication — the late nights, the split-second decisions, the compassion you share with every caller — and we are deeply grateful. You are the heart that keeps our service beating, and we couldn’t do what we do without you.
From all of us at Wayne County Ambulance, thank you for being the unseen heroes who connect every emergency to hope.

With gratitude and respect,
Your Wayne County Ambulance Family

Your teamwork, dedication, and willingness to brave the elements truly make a difference for our patients and our community. We are so grateful for your continued partnership and support. Stay safe out there, and thank you for all you do!

Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

Areas of the state are experiencing flooded roads and walkways. Here are a few tips to stay safe:
- - If your area is prone to flooding take precautions such as moving cars to higher ground.
- Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Even six inches of fast moving floodwater can knock you off your feet, and a depth of two feet will float your car! Never try to walk, bike or drive through flooded areas. Water may be deeper than you think!
- Do not attempt to drive over a flooded road. Obey traffic barriers. STOP! Turn around and go another way.
- Keep children from playing in floodwaters or near culverts and storm drains.

We are under a winter weather advisory and expecting snowfall and possible ice in our area starting early this morning through Monday. We just want to remind everyone that snow storms are usually our busiest times. Therefore, 911 is for real emergencies.

Here are some important reminders:

1. Stay off the roads. If you don’t have to be on the roads, please do not be. If you must travel, allow yourself extra time and take extreme caution.

2. If you experience a power outage, please do not call 911 to report it. Instead, contact your electric company directly for assistance.

3. Please keep in mind that EMS does not carry extra portable oxygen tanks to lend out. Make sure you have that before this storm hits.

4. If you experience an emergency and must call 911, please remember the response time will be longer then usual. Our EMS trucks probably will not be able to make it up your driveway either. 😬

5. PLEASE for the love of the lord 🙏 be respectful & do not cuss us or at us, I PROMISE, We are taking call after call, praying for just a 2 minute bathroom break and a chance to eat our cold food.. We are trying and doing the very best that we can. Please be patient with us!

We all want to go home to our families at the end of our shifts. Please call 911 for a true emergency when someone is experiencing a potentially life-threatening situation.
