Meet Dave, KQT’s Senior Fleet Technician in Newark, Delaware! Dave joined KQT in August 2025 after spending 11 years with GEM Ambulance, bringing years of valuable experience to our Fleet Team.
A big shoutout to Dave for the work he puts in every day to keep our Delaware fleet maintained and ready to serve!

We are excited to welcome Julian “JP” Watras as our new Director of Training and Education!

JP brings more than 15 years of experience in emergency medical services, with a background as a Paramedic, Firefighter, EMS instructor, supervisor, and operational leader. Most recently, he served as a Paramedic Lieutenant with Crozer Health Emergency Medical Services, where he supervised a team of EMS professionals and was responsible for clinical standards, safety, regulatory compliance, staff mentorship, and training.

In his new role, JP will lead our efforts to strengthen and standardize training and education across Keystone Quality Transport and LifeStar Response, supporting our employees from new-hire orientation through continuing education, professional development, and ongoing clinical and operational training.
As our organization continues to grow, investing in our people and providing them with the training and resources they need to succeed remains one of our priorities.

Five stars PLUS for Aiden and Maria! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently received some wonderful feedback from a patient recognizing two of our team members for their compassion, professionalism, and outstanding care. From explaining every step of the transport to making sure the patient was comfortable and had everything they needed, Aiden and Maria went above and beyond. As KQT continues to grow, we’re proud that our fleet is being sourced right here at home too.

When new growth opportunities were in front of us, the timing aligned perfectly with SIV’s expanding production capabilities. Their team has been great to work with over the years. For this order they made customizing build specifications simple and committed to a production timeline. Even better, production is running ahead of schedule!

We’ve already received 6 new ambulances that are being prepped for service, with 14 more on the way soon.

That’s 20 new Pennsylvania-built ambulances getting ready to serve patients and communities across Pennsylvania.

Please join us in congratulating KQT's own, Cosme Francisco and Wilkins Maria on graduating from the Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute Paramedic Program last night!

Cosme and Wilkins joined KQT as EMTs in January 2022. In early 2025, they shared their goal of becoming paramedics and were guided to apply to GFAC. Over the past year, they have worked incredibly hard—balancing the demands of paramedic school with full-time work schedules, family responsibilities and home life—all while continuing to pursue their dreams. Their dedication, perseverance and commitment to advancing their skills align with everything we have seen from them during their time with KQT.

Cosme and Wilkins, the entire KQT family could not be any more proud of you. You earned this moment, and we cannot wait to see the impact you will make as paramedics!

We also extend our sincere appreciation to GFAC for providing an exceptional program and unwavering support throughout their journey. Thank you for investing in these outstanding young men and helping them reach this important milestone.

As our region continues to experience this intense heat wave, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible dedication of our whole team. When the temperatures rise, our team rises to the challenge!

Despite the scorching conditions, our EMTs, paramedics, drivers, dispatchers, communications specialists, mechanics and support staff continue to do what it takes to provide safe transportation and compassionate care to every patient we serve. Whether it's loading patients in the heat, navigating busy roadways, coordinating trips behind the scenes and ensuring our fleet is ready to respond, they remain committed.

Port Richmond Manager, Gervase Peterson, was out and about with a mobile hydration station helping our teams stay hydrated.

Lifestar crew of Julia Sylvester and Rob Doyle, completed a transport last week to Encompass Health Rehab Hospital of Nittany Valley. The facility offers goat therapy and it worked for them bringing big smiles to their faces!
