We haven't been posting because it's been insanely busy but....let's talk about "education".
Today was eviction after eviction after eviction.
This dog in the picture was in the home with another dog.
Both were well cared for and friendly.
While there, there was also a crew cutting back the weeds and mowing the lawn.
When this girl came out one of this crew declared he was taking her. He was informed he was incorrect and not taking her.
After some back and forth he was told she would be held and if not claimed she would be spayed and put up for adoption.
Well, he didn't want her then because he wanted her for breeding. He was informed of the crisis we are in and didn't give one s**t.
He didn't care about euthanasia numbers, shelters over capacity, dogs dying every day.
He said that's what dogs are for, to be bred.
When we tell you we consistently offer free surgery and it's almost always declined, we aren't kidding.
His response is the response 95% of the time.
We don't have the answers but we'll keep trying.
All dogs today were very sweet and keep an eye out for Jasmine, the ten year old very cute cat who was very loved by her owner who wasn't able to take her with him after they both lost their home today.
