773-963-0737 : South Side plans are better when you know the lay of the land.
Labor Day weekend, Washington Park comes alive for the 36th Annual African Festival of the Arts, September 5–7. From 10 AM to 10 PM daily, the Sunken Garden will be filled with live music, beautiful art, unforgettable food, and the kind of community spirit that makes Chicago feel like home.
City Insider note: the main entrance is at 55th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue. Expect Cottage Grove and nearby C*D closures, heavier foot traffic, and limited patience for the on-site parking shuffle. For families, a simple drop-off near the entrance is often the smoother move: especially when little ones, coolers, or festival treasures are along for the ride.
If you’d rather arrive relaxed and ready for the music, Fiona’s Carriage can help make the journey part of the pleasure. Our chauffeurs know the South Side, plan ahead, and keep the experience comfortable from curb to celebration.
