eston. We began our journey three decades ago with a fleet of only two vehicles. Brand recognition and a positive response from community residents have allowed us to grow to over 65 employees today operating a fleet of 25 vehicles. Our company has a history of innovation; for example, we purchased and operated 12 diesel-powered French Peugeot vehicles in the 1980s as a way to differentiate ourselves from our competitors. Currently, in addition to our regular cabs, we have two eco-friendly Toyota Prius vehicles in our fleet. These vehicles, which we call our Ecoride Program, have been tremendously popular and help us reduce our company’s carbon footprint while doing our part to improve air quality in the city. We have also added two wheelchair-accessible vans to the fleet, helping those with physical disabilities get around our city safely and efficiently. Our innovations go far beyond the vehicles we operate on the streets of Charleston and surrounding communities. In an effort to provide more convenience to our customers, we’ve created an online trip-booking tool on our website. We rolled out our revolutionary Link app, which lets Android and Apple smartphone users book a trip, pay for a trip, and track trips on map from wherever they are located. The app can even tell customers which employee is on his- or her way! Incredible convenience is just one of the ways we give back to the residents of our city. Of course, our talented customer care specialists can book a trip over the telephone, and our telephone-based automated booking system can help past customers save time by giving them the option of being picked up at a location they’ve used previously. At C&H, we are committed to improving the quality of life for our city’s residents. Several years ago, we implemented our signature Intoxi-Taxi ® Program to help keep drunk drivers off the roads. If you’ve had too much to drink, our cab service provides free or low-cost rides home. This service is available during special events throughout the calendar year, including concerts and civic events.
