Intra Collegiate Emergency Medical Service - ICEMS ICEMS is a state certified non-transport BLS emergency medical service made up of Indiana University

The Indiana Collegiate Emergency Medical Service (ICEMS) is a non-transport Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency medical service certified by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. ICEMS is a member of the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation (NCEMSF), and is composed of Indiana University students who are state and nationally certified emergency medical technicians (EMT),

as well as students certified in first aid and CPR. Our organization provides emergency medical coverage for events held by IU student organizations and local organizations in the Bloomington area. IC-EMS also provides American Heart Association CPR and First Aid certification classes to Indiana University - Bloomington students.

❗️It’s Member Monday❗️Meet Aditya Phadnis, this is his 4th year with ICEMS and second year on the board as our Webmaster and Special Projects Director 💻Outside of ICEMS he spends some of his time with Habitat for Humanity working on building houses with a great group of people. He is majoring in physics with chem and math minors 🔬This past summer he had a great time working at the Ransburg Reservation as an onsite EMT. In the little free time that he does have, he enjoys going to Hoosier heights with his roommate and friends.

Thank you to everyone who has been working very hard these past few weeks to ensure all of our shifts are fully staffed. As a whole, IC-EMS has staffed the following Little 500 events within just the last week: Qualifications (12 hour event), roughly 10 hours of track time everyday of the week, and Individual Time Trial's (9 hour event). On top of this, IC-EMS will be staffing multiple events this weekend, some of which are occurring simultaneously. We cannot thank all of our members enough for their hard work during this very busy time for IC-EMS!

“Practice doesn't make perfect. Practice reduces the imperfection.” -Toba Beta.

In the field of Emergency Medical Services, imperfection is not an option, and you must be able to act in the moment and on the fly with near perfection. Doing one small thing wrong could mean the difference between life and death, so we encourage our followers and the members of our organization to never stop training and learning. Know your strengths and weaknesses, and work to make your weaknesses into strengths. Great job to these two IC-EMS Members for living by this motto, and taking some down time in the shift to practice such a vital skill for EMT's to be comfortable with.
