Following up on my post from yesterday about the water from the dam breaking. Came to work early this morning to find the waters had receded. Water got to within about a foot from the classroom door last night and that was it. Thankful!

CONGRATULATIONS to Palmetto Transport Systems employees Jessika Gaudiomonte and Dylan Faulk for successfully completing the 18 month Paramedic program at Richmond Community College in Hamlet, NC. The pinning ceremony was held today, May 14, 2014, in the beautiful Cole Auditorium. There were 17 students there to receive their certificate of completion and Pin. Congratulations to all but especially to Jessika and Dylan. Way to go guys!!!

Several people have inquired about yesterday With the dam at Lake Wallace failing. We were worried about facing a potential situation like we had in 2018 when the building flooded and we lost everything. In 2018 water was 29” deep in our classroom. Fortunately, this time was only a minor inconvenience for us with no damage at all. Thanks to those that inquired or came by to offer help.

Everyone with Palmetto Transport would like to send our most heartfelt condolences to the Flowers family on the loss of their loved one, and our friend and co-worker, Erick Flowers. Erick came to work with MCR in 2002, and has been part of the MCR, and now Palmetto Transport family since then. Erick was known by many people, and liked by everyone who knew him. I had spoken with Erick on Monday about helping him with his Paramedic Refresher class - and he was excited about the prospect of regaining his certification. He told me that he wanted to be “done and certified by October 1st”, and I told him to let’s make it happen. At 41 years old, he had many good years ahead of him. So Just remember that tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Live and love without boundaries because we too can be gone in an instant. Our Thoughts and prayers go out to the Flowers family. We will not forget you or your son.

Palmetto Transport Systems, LLC, is proud to once again be a corporate sponsor for this year’s Kelly Keith Memorial Golf Tournament. This event honors a fallen American hero, Marine CPL Kelly Keith of Cheraw! Kelly and 18 other Marines were killed in April of 2000 when the Marine Osprey aircraft they were riding in crashed while on a training excercise in Arizona. Kelly’s family, led by Phillip Leviner, do a terrific job of putting on this golf tournament each year to raise money for local charities in Kelly's name! We are honored to be able to help sponsor this event again this year.
