My name is Desireé, and I am the other co-owner of J and D Logistix. My sister and I are freight dispatchers and we don’t just provide the basic needs for our carriers. We go above and beyond creating strong, reliable and trustworthy relationships. We sympathize with our drivers OTR and the many different circumstances that they may endure. First of all, a dispatcher's job requirements are more than just taking calls. We, as dispatchers MUST be able to be
-Organized.
-Always stay focused.
-Pay attention to details.
-Have the ability to multi-task.
-Must be able to adapt to different carriers and their needs.
-MUST have a high level of confidence! No one will want to do business with someone who is NOT confident in themselves. No matter how much knowledge you have.
-Must have superior communication skills! These brokers WILL try and get over on you and your carrier. Do Not be afraid to hang up if your carrier is not getting the MOST out of a load!
-Empathetic and compassionate towards our carriers. They go through a lot OTR. As dispatchers, we need to have their backs. An open line of communication is a MUST between you and the carrier. It establishes trust.
-Exceptional, emotional self-control. Because things are going to get tough, but just imagine how your driver feels OTR sometimes.
