🚨Red Travel Advisory🚨

Per the Dearborn County Board of Commissioners Dearborn County, IN will now upgrade and be placed under a “RED” travel warning. Snowfall rates are predicted to be more than an inch an hour for several hours. This extreme rate and frigid temperatures will make road clearing extremely difficult.
A red (Warning) is the highest level of local travel advisory means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. During a "warning" local travel advisory, individuals are directed to:
• Refrain from all travel;• Comply with necessary emergency measures;• Cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans; and • Obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.Additional exceptions to the warning travel advisory are found in Indiana Code 10-14-3-29.

In a gesture of respect, the city of Greendale has procured Christmas Wreaths for the graves of military veterans at the Greendale cemetery. Residents of Greendale interested in placing a wreath on a family member's grave may obtain one free of charge at the police department between 8am and 4pm through the end of the week, while supplies last.

***Orange Travel Watch***

Per the Dearborn County Board of Commissioners Dearborn County, IN will now upgrade and be placed under an “orange” travel watch. Please stay off the roadways as much as possible to allow crews to clear them safely.

An orange (watch) travel status means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.

If you can stay home today please do so that road crews can clear the roads. If you have to get out today then leave early and allow extra time to get to your destination. Also remember to prepared in case you get stranded. Have warm clothing along with gloves, water and make sure you have plenty of gas in your tank.
