I read a article where you do not have to answer an officers questions. I put it thru a test recently in South Carolina, I live in Alabama.
I was coming back home around 730ish and could not see the lines in a community I was driving in. OF COURSE...I got in front of a local police. I finally pulled over on the side in front of a no parking sign. They came to the right side window and tapped. I said nothing...he ask had I been drinking...no...I said I just can not see the lines in the road. They are so faded....I am not familiar with this area. He asked where I was going....home....he asked where had I been....some where back there, I can give you the address. All this going on while I am getting, license, digging in glove boxes for registration. And finally get my phone to show insurance. He asked several times had I been drinking I said are you kidding me? Finally show insurance. Gave me a warning about driving. I said if I could see the lines I would....moral of the story.
You have a right to be silent, and Noone has to show their identity in your car.

Paid off $17,540 in debt, finally got the settlement check $154,000, credit score hit 786, bought a 2020 Chevy Pickup, start building on my new home next month and just booked a 2-week vacation to Australia, leaving on January 1st !!
