WATCHING EASTER - a big outdoor day of events on Easter Sunday could be ruined by storms. The threat will be there for a line of strong storms crossing the state. The exact timing is going to be key for specific plans so stay aware of the forecast.

⚠️ Covington County Offices Delay Opening Monday Due to Severe Weather

Due to the potential for severe storms overnight, all Covington County offices will delay opening until 10:00 AM on Monday morning.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a line of storms moving through the area between approximately 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM, with possible hazards including:

🌩 Damaging winds up to 60–70 mph
🌪 Possible tornadoes, some of which could be strong
⚡ Heavy rain and lightning

Because these storms are expected overnight and into the early morning hours, the delayed opening will allow time for the storms to move through the area and for any potential impacts to be assessed before offices open.

County officials encourage residents to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight and to identify a safe place in your home in case warnings are issued.

Please stay weather aware and take the necessary precautions to keep your family safe.
