Driver Appreciation Week is always a special reminder of what we already know every day: our drivers are at the heart of GRL.

From sprucing up the driver’s lounge and keeping the snacks stocked to handwritten thank-you notes and special “personal needs” pallets for our drivers, Driver Appreciation Week was filled with finding little ways to show our appreciation. But the most important part is simply saying thank you.

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, long miles, commitment to safety, and the care you put into every delivery. Thank you for representing GRL on the road and for helping move our customers’ businesses forward.

We couldn’t be prouder of the team behind the wheel. Thank you for all you do!

Our GRL team gathered this past weekend for our quarterly Driver Safety Meeting where we kicked things off with breakfast catered by Grill5•8•4 before diving into a morning focused on safety, operations, and most importantly, showing our drivers just how much we appreciate everything they do.

We were also excited to welcome a very special guest, Annette Rose, who spent more than 40 years with Glen Raven, Inc. and served for many years as the HR & Safety Manager for GRL. Annette worked closely with many of our drivers throughout her career, so having her join us for breakfast was a special surprise and a great opportunity to reconnect.

We wrapped up the meeting by celebrating 3 outstanding drivers with the following awards:

🏆 Company Driver of the Year: Antwan Moore
🏆 Owner Operator of the Year: Dean Crews
🏆 Rookie of the Year: Earnest Taylor

To our GRL drivers: thank you for your hard work, your commitment to prioritizing safety, and for keeping us moving forward!

Fresh, local, and community-focused 🌽🥒🍅

Last week, thanks to the help of our Dietician, Jamie Martin, we were able to bring a shipment of fresh produce from Hinton Farms of Gibsonville, NC, to our Altamahaw associates.

From vine-ripened tomatoes and crisp cucumbers to sweet corn, peppers, onions, okra, and more, associates were invited to take home fresh, healthy vegetables at no cost. We also included a few simple recipe cards to inspire new meals and snacks.

Supporting local farms while investing in the well-being of our team is something we're proud to do. A big thank you to Jamie Martin and Hinton Farms Produce for helping make this opportunity possible!

As part of Eco Spirit Week, we were thrilled to welcome Burlington Animal Services back to campus for a special afternoon with some adorable adoptable dogs. 🐾

Our associates spent time outside enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and taking turns walking the dogs around campus, a simple activity that brought a lot of smiles.

We also collected food donations to help support BAS. A special shoutout to Carrie Sheets for coordinating this event and delivering all of the donations afterward. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day such a success!

Last week, our team kicked off Eco Spirit Week with a campus-wide game of “Houseplant Hide & Seek” and it did not disappoint!

Thanks to Lee Mattice, who sourced 10 plants from Alamance Community College's plant sale, our associates were on the move tracking down the plants from photo clues for a chance to win their own greenery.

It was a fun way to get everyone out from behind their desks, explore our campus, and support the students of ACC's Horticulture Program all at once. A little fresh air, friendly competition, and a whole lot of team spirit 🌱
